Delicious! Love the fresh food. Got there at 12 on a Sunday with no line and a few tables open. By 12:30, line was out the door and no tables, so were we lucky? The homemade chips are good, though they are not always all crispy. We visit this eatery every time we come up to Manchester.

Good sandwich on fresh baked bread. Homemade chips are great as well. The staff is never really friendly and the hours are really disappointing.

Best Sandwich shop in Manchester area. This place is amazing. Freshest ingredients, fresh baked breads, and homemade potato chips. Enough said... thank me later.

Loved this place - fresh bread, great pastrami, generous portions, homemade potato chips, and totally affordable.

We love the food, but service is unfriendly. Person at the register (who I assume is owner) has never been friendly in all the years we've gone there. Went back recently and VERY disappointed they no longer have the seafood salad sandwich. Had egg salad sandwich which was great. Cookies delicious. Only 3 stars as the unfriendliness is wearing on us. Not sure we'll be back.

Sandwiches are good, but I felt like I was putting the employees out by asking for a sandwich the way that I wanted it! The woman was snooty and it cost us (not joking) $24 for two mediocre sandwiches (that could not even be toasted)!!! They need an overhaul at this place BIG TIME! For that kind of mo dy I would expect local ingredients (including the meats) and service with a smile!

love love love this place! i've been going for several years and the quality of the bread can't be beat. sandwiches are to die for, and definitely worth the wait in line. it's true that there isn't a lot of seating, but I won't hold it against the deli. rather, my ire is directed towards 1) customers that split up with one ordering and the other holding the table despite having no actual food to eat, and 2) customers that sit idling at their table long after they finish their food despite, again, people with actual food to eat waiting impatiently nearby, staring you down and hoping you get the message that it's time to go. so, to sum up: food is amazing, bread is fresh and awesome, and if you happen to go and plan on eating in, be a considerate diner!

Great sandwich options- I had trouble picking! I finally settled on a club and it was fresh and tasty. The soup was fresh and tasty as well. Nothing processed, just fresh quality food. Portions were huge so I saved my sandwich for the next day. Will absolutely go back for a quick meal

I never come to Vermont without stopping at Zoey's. This is quite simply the best deli in the United States. Bring an appetite. Only downside is the sometimes lack of seating and long line. I usually won't tolerate either of these things but I make an exception for Zoey's.

Zoey's is pretty good. If you're on a budget two folks can enjoy a single sandwich (half each). It's pretty good. Not spectacular, but it feels home made and lunchy and it's jolly enough in there. Sandwiches are nice and big and they give you their weird over and undercooked chips with them which I quite like. Nothing amazing but generally good.

A sandwich lover's paradise. The freshest ingredients are here, from the soft bread to the homemade potato chips, everything is top notch. The sandwiches are big too, they don't skimp. Actually, everything is big here, including a must, a Zoey's Big Cookie which is shareable between 3-4 people! The homemade chips are awesome, but they're hit or miss depending on if you get a fresh batch or the end of and old batch. Sometimes the chips are overcooked or undercooked, but they're pretty awesome nonetheless. The sandwiches are made fresh right in front of you, nothing is pre-prepared. They let you substitute or add items to both sandwiches and salads, which is always a plus. I have never NOT seen a line here, the worst is when you get here close to when they close, which is at 2PM, which is absurd for a deli. But while you're on line, you can read the big board and decide which sandwich you'll be ordering. We usually take our sandwiches to go, but on the odd occasion we dine in, the seating is hard to come by. The place is almost always crowded during the winter season and they only have about 8 tables for dining in. In addition to the small dining area, the parking lot is a challenge in itself. Zoey's is a must hit in Manchester and a great spot to stop at if you end your ski day early enough!

Turkey sandwich good. Club sandwich was very good. Their bread is really thick. This is a man which kind of sandwich. Oatmeal raisin cookie was very good.

Great little Deli in VT. Fresh creative sandwiches made to order. The bread is freshly baked and the portions are generous. Hummus is excellent. Definitely recommend a visit!

My boyfriend grew up in Manchester, and his family still lives here, so every time we visit, I force him to go to Zoey's. It's THAT good! I've had almost all of their sandwiches and every single one is so great. The ingredients taste fresh, and is so filling. And their chips...OH MY LANTAU their chips! Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night in my NYC apartment and crave these chips...you can't get them ANYWHERE else. Every time I go in, the people behind the counter are friendly, fast, and personable. I've never had anyone with a bad attitude, and I am always greeted with a smile. That, in combination with the amazing food (also, see: THE COOKIES), make Zoey's one of my favorite parts of Manchester. I'm already excited for our next visit.

Great chicken salad sandwich, very generous portion. House made potato cut fries. Excellent deli option!

I've only tried the massive cookies this deli has to offer. They are SO good, especially the white chocolate/cherry flavor! Great snack after a long day of skiing. Don't know if I'd go back for the food, but I would for the cookie. Lines were long around early afternoon so they are clearly running a good business.

Have been to this establishment twice, and I love their barnyard wrap with balsamic vinegrette instead of honey mustard. The sandwiches are large and fresh which come with a generous side of home made chips (I must say I actually love the undercooked ones) and a pickle. The second time I came here they forgot to add cheese and the dressing to my sandwich, an honest mistake which they were happy to fix. It's not a cheap place to eat lunch. The first time I came I split a sandwich with my mom and purchased two drinks for $15. The second time I went with my husband we had two sandwiches and two drinks for $24. For sandwiches it's a little steep, but like I said they are large in size and are made fresh.

We have always loved this spot, but when they flat out refused to nuke some turkey for my pregnant wife I was really rubbed the wrong way. We even tried to explain but they had no interest in being helpful. Sorry but we'll be going elsewhere now.

Excellent--this is a must do when you travel through the area. The counter is fast, so even out-the-door lines move quickly. The menu is only a suggestion--they will make you whatever you want and add a large portion of chips to it, too.

Took the kids, sandwiches were good. The homemade chips were Ok, but reminded me of soggy regular potato chips. Soup was excellent. The kids loved the big cookie!

If you are in the Manchester area, GO HERE! You will not be disappointed. Zoey's is a cozy Vermont deli with quality sandwiches, delicious homemade chips, and massive scrumptious cookies. Portions are big, staff are friendly. I would highly recommend the Turkey Royal!

Stopped in on a very cold Sunday around 2. They stayed open an extra bit bc the line was so long. The place is cute and has a bug array of sandwiches, wraps, salads, and soups. None of the sandwiches are hot. You stand in line like a deli while they take your order and make it. I ordered the Irish on rye. Solid sandwich, ingredient and size-wise. Mixed well together. Corned beef w cole slaw (fairly creamy) and a strong horseradish taste. Good sandwich. Came w their fried chips. I wasn't impressed. They weren't salted and we're basically either burnt and almost black or underdone and limp. Not sure how they mixed it up like that, but they did. I also got the salad on special - spring mix w apple slices, grapes, walnuts, craisins, and curried hummus. Came w 2 slices of bread - got the honey oat, which was really good. The salad was really good - great mix of the ingredients. And the curried hummus - incredible! I get a lot of hummus and this stuff was simply impressive. I would try their curried stuff (curried chicken on the menu too) - bet you'll win. My girlfriend got the chicken sesame. She liked it. Got it with the avocado spread - which added a nice flavor. We also got a vermutter cookie - chocolate chips, oats, peanut butter. It's HUGE! It was fine. Good mix of the ingredients, thick, crunchy on the edges and soft on the inside. If you like that kind of cookie, you'll really like it. I love peanut butter but not as much in my cookies - but my girlfriend does... Good place. Irish on rye, vermutter cookie, special salad (mesclun, apples, craisins, curried hummus), nature wrap, fried chips

Best deli in the area. They make their own bread and it is delicious. I had a hummus and veggie sandwich the portion size was very generous, and everything was very fresh. They have 3 kinds of hummus. The sandwich was also under $10! The restaurant is very clean and they have nice small outdoor seating area, a few tables indoors as well. A great find for lunch!

Grabbed a Ham Club the other day for lunch, come with an appetite because the sandwich is quite large! The side of chips is also huge but be prepared to throw half of them away because they are still dripping with oil and half cooked from being stuck together. but the one's that came out well where great! Just needs some more loving in the fryer. I must say that the food was super quick and the atmosphere was good.

Great little cafe. I visited while here for the weekend and was surprised at the large variety of sandwiches, salads and quiches this place had to order. Sandwiches and salads are made to order with very few pre-prepared for foods available for takeout. They have several very different gelato flavors. For example strawberry shortcake, and white chocolate. They also have a few different kinds of cookies that are bigger then my head. I had the chicken bbq wrap which came with their homemade chips (delicious). The portions are large and the food is priced well.

Fantastic. I'm really happy we found this place while staying in Manchester. I had the mahi-mahi burger... Between the guac, corn and bean relish, salsa, excellently cooked mahi-mahi, I could cry that was so delicious. Their home made chips were outstanding, more than just fried potato, so much more. Warm atmosphere and delicious food, I cannot ask for more.

I'll have to second my wife's review. First let me say I've worked in restaurants for 15 years and I'm a (now ex) chef. The food was fine. Homemade potato chips were great. However, I felt soooooooooooooooooo uncomfortable here from the minute I walked in. Why? Because we came at 1:30 and I got the 'we don't want you here vibe'. I've given that very same vibe to customers that came in at 10:29 when we closed the place at 11:30. But that's not the kind of thing you would expect from the actual OWNER of the place. And not at 2 pm. Fine. Don't take my money. Your food was ok, but hardly Michelin worthy. Baking good homemade bread is an art, but its not a unilateral one to your restaurant. Perhaps its just a lack of options in this small but lovely town. Seriously though, you're the OWNER of a restaurant and you kick out a family with a baby and a young child who are half done with their lunch. Shame on you. Won't be back.

Good spinach quiche. (small slice) Heated up in microwave. Came with a salad. Pricey for what you get. Counter Staff was not friendly. ODD placement for their Chalkboard Menu. Everyone comes in & asked- Where's yr menu? On a side wall where no one even looks. Guess it was an after thought in the design process.

Have been a regular customer for years and noticed a slow but steady decline. Today was rock bottom. Ordered a soup with a creamy base and after one taste though it was rancid. Commented to manager and she responded that they do not take soup back. Threw it in trash. Plenty of other sandwich joints to spend my money.

After trying three times to get in for lunch on various occasions, we finally made it before 2pm. Why does a deli with sandwiches close at 2? Our friend touted this deli and loves the place but we didn't understand the fuss. Veggie and hummus sandwiches were totally tasteless. The bread had no taste, the tiny smear of hummus had no discernible flavor and the homemade chips were soggy, greasy and stuck together. I think some slices of avocado would make a difference. Maybe some honey mustard. And not inexpensive. I don't understand the hype. If you're ever in NYC try Lenny's for huge, delicious veggie sandwiches.

Very good food. I had a tough time choosing what to get since everything sounded so good. The sandwiches were giant and delicious. Soups were excellent as well, as were the cookies.

Stopped in with a friend for a sandwich. Passed one employee outside. No hello. Nothing. Got inside the building and the lady behind the counter informed me I have 2 minutes and she was Closing. No hello. No Welcome. But Closing in 2 minutes. I will never return with that type of customer service. Extremely rude. So we walked out and spent our money at another location.

We've been to Zoey's a few times now, and while it is consistently good, it's never great. The bacon on the clubs is cold, the homemade potato chips are soggy, beyond greasy, and just gross. The sandwiches are definitely good, but in a town with many sandwich shops, they are just average. They do have some really delicious bread, though. And those hubcap-sized cookies always look so yummy! Definitely a safe lunch bet, but not my favorite in Manchester.

Was here the other day very excited to bring my husband as I grew up in Manchester and always loved Zoey's sandwiches. However I was totally blown away by how rude the owner was to us and how bad the customer service there is. The girl making our sandwiches was nice, but when my husband asked the owner, who was running the register, if they were able to make him a grilled cheese, he very shortly and rudely replied "Just whats on the board" and didn't offer him any further assistance. Okayyyy. Fine. So we ordered some sandwiches, they were pretty good. The board is actually a little confusing and should be laid out better for if you wanna create our own sandwich and what your options are. But whatever. The worst part came though at 2:05pm when they abruptly shut off the music and started closing down the restaurant around us and another family that had 2 little kids with them(!) while we were still eating. I'm a waitress people. I know that game. They close at 2 (which is ridiculous honestly- people are still interested in eating lunch at 2pm I hate to tell you) and they wanted us out. But FIVE minutes after they closed?? Give us a little window! It was SO uncomfortable. I could understand starting to clean up and stuff, we they were putting chairs on top of tables next to us. And this was literally 10 minutes after 2:00. While the owner was there, I'm sure it was his idea. Someone like that does not deserve to own a successful business dealing with the public. Next time I go to Manchester I will definitely be lunching elsewhere.

A nice fresh deli that offers sandwiches, salads, homemade chips, bread, and cookies. They also sell gelato. Over all it was good food with a fun atmosphere. (No GF options- and I don't believe any of offerings were organic)

  • Jackie T.

I really like this deli - they have a great variety of sandwiches plus the homemade chips are delicious! As a warning, it's not a big place (the upstairs isn't open for seating) so you might want to avoid rush hours if you want a place to sit. I love that they have so many bread choices too. Definitely a good lunch spot.

Delicious homemade bread and wraps filled with fresh deli meats, cheeses, and veggies. Huge homemade cookies. Definitely the place for lunch in Rutland!

You cannot go wrong with a lunch from Zoey's Deli. I usually bring help because the sandwiches are the size of my head! Soups are usually excellent as well.

Great sandwiches on thick homemade bread and delicious fresh potato chips. Not the easiest parking lot to navigate when they are busy though.

  • Lori B.

Thanks Yelp for guiding us to this place for a quick lunch. The parking lot had one space left (thankfully) and the line was not too long - just long enough to know it was a popular spot! We split a Roast Beef Wrangler and my parents split the sesame chicken wrap. The potato chips were obviously freshly made and were out -of-this world! It was a little frustrating that they didn't have enough seating so we had to stand over other diners with our sandwiches until they left. Uncomfortable for all.

  • Scott R.

We were here once in summer, and now again in winter. Fantastic both times. Big, creative sandwiches on homemade bread. Comes with plenty of homemade chips. They have soups and more - we just didn't try any of that. No breakfast sandwiches either, though plenty of people were coming through for coffee and pastries ... For our family of 3, we should have only ordered two sandwiches ... and we'd have still had more than enough food, since there was no way we were going to skip the killer cookies for dessert. The only shortcoming was the coffee. Highly average at best. Everything else was excellent. Overall, closer to 5 stars than 4, we'll round up.

This place is on our must stop list on our way home every time we're in VT - it is awesome! Great, huge sandwiches, lots of variety and the soups are delicious! Not to mention, the newsletter where they give away their awesome recipes so you can enjoy their food even when you're not in VT. All in all, great find and a must stop!
